Somewhere within my soul is a hole. I became aware of it when i was just a little girl. This hole does not take a tangible form, nor does it demand much of my attention. It just sits there unnoticed. Once in a while when it feels like it, it releases a small puff of emptiness that floats across the space that is my consciousness. This puff begins to take shape and suddenly i am hit softly with a wave of what seems to be a profound feeling of emptiness, a yearning for something more. This occurs anywhere - when i'm talking to my mom, when i'm with my friends etc - and it disappears within a microsecond. It's more a fleeting image than a sensation. I've tried on many occasions to wrap my fingers around it to give it a thorough examination but i just cannot seem to understand why a peaceful little girl like me would experience something so... unexpected.

The frequency of these occurances were higher when i was younger, starting from the innocent age of 8 or 9. Throughout my teens i talked to God, asking him to please fill this hole. Did it work? Maybe, maybe not. These feelings persisted until i was 18. Then amazingly it stopped. For two years I didn't not once get a hint of this strange slip of a feeling. but damn, it resurfaced again quite recently. Just once or twice a week but enough for me to sit up and say hey you're back old friend.

These lil flashes are almost imperceptible and it definitely does not consume me. it's just like having your purpose for living sucked out of you for just a split, barely-noticable second. It's, as i've mentioned before, a yearning for something more. It only seems strange because i've tried repeatedly to single out this particular emotion throughout the years.

like most normal girls i floated through a fighting phase when i was little. I had guns and swords placed haphazardly around the house. If they hadn't just been toys my childhood would have been one massive bloodbath (◡‿◡✿)

It's beautiful how fighting is such an innate part of our being. it stems from the most primal parts of our mind and seeps into every muscle powering our weak modern body. it's too bad we don't fight anymore except for peace.

Hi mom, hi dad.

Just so you know, i'm very much alive and yes, i am quite capable of staying that way.

I cooked dinner tonight. With wen yi and yann ying. And before that, we went FURNITURE and GROCERY shopping in the CITY. We WALKED there and EVERYWHERE. It was very fun, the weather was awesomely cool and it was quite SAFE. No one tried to bungle us up and we only saw a couple of hobos. Oh we also got caught in a riot for some petition against a ban against live music or something along those lines.

That's the riot thing. There was a band on a truck. They were pretty good.

I think there was a point in my life where i used to blog really often, maybe like a year or two years ago. And my posts were long and diary entry-like. But that was when i actually had people, like, actual human beings, reading my blog instead of those "spiders" or whatever you call it that search engines send out to mark pages. I mean, does anyone even read this?!?! Anyway, i blog for my own benefit, because it's therapeutic and also so i can look back at this thing when i am 92 and laugh laugh laugh. haha :)

Anyway, today (and every day actually) has been really nice, i think i could totally get used to living like this for a long, long time. No worries, no stress, and i am definitely NOT thinking about the stupid results which are coming out next week. Do NOT tell me i'll do okay because saying that won't change how badly i messed up my english paper. But hey, that's next week, and i prefer to live and enjoy every day as it comes and not dwell on my impending and imminent doom.

Yea anywayy, this morning mom dragged me out of my room and insisted that i go shopping with her at bangsar. I don't know what came over her, seriously. I didn't really wanna go cause i had things to do at home and also because she would be with her friend and i would probably end up wandering around alone. But i went anyway. And true enough, i ended up wandering around alone, bored to near death. Ha ha ha.

After awhile, i left my mom with her friend and went over to midvalley instead where i watched NEW MOON with af and af. :D It was alright i guess. 70% of the movie consisted of close-ups. And we were sitting in the SECOND row, so yea, the whole thing was like... right in my face. Hmmm, maybe THAT'S why EVERYTHING seemed like a close-up haha.

So that was my day.

As much as i love hanging out in hospitals (pfft), i'm extremely, EXTREMELY relieved that tomorrow is a FRIDAY AT LAST which means that the following day is a SATURDAY which means that i don't have to wake up at the ungodly hour of 5.30am just so i can arrive at the hospital at 6.30am.

Maybe it's time to consider a career change. Something less stressful and less bloody... like rocket science. HAHA.

Yo, i've seen a couple of movies these few days and since i am bored to near tears, i'll write a nice little review on them so you'll know what not to waste your money on.

1. 2012

I watched it twice. The first time, i missed the first 20 minutes of the movie and the second, i missed the last 45 minutes of the movie, haha. But from what i managed to piece together, this movie was pretty awesome, i think.

Yea so, 2012 is a typical Hollywood blockbuster. Everything was done right - the sound effects, the building up of suspense, the acting, cinematography, graphics, timing bla bla... everything came out perfectly on cue. The plot isn't half bad either, some people thought it rather slow and predictable but i think it's alright. Totally worth watching, but not twice.

2. The Box

This was so bad. The whole thing made absolutely no sense whatsoever, and the ending provided no answers to the bizarreness and strangeness of the plot which really can't be considered a plot at all. The only reason why i didn't bolt for the door after an hour of that crap was because i wanted a clear explanation of everything that seemed to be happening for no apparent reason at all but nada, i didn't get any. i didn't get the entire thing. But i kinda liked the setting of the movie, and the colours in it and the cinematography, but the sound effects were nasty so no, do not, under any circumstances, waste your money on this sad excuse for a "thought-provoking" film. (Critics defending the film wrote that only people who "graduated from high school" would be able to understand and appreciate this film but seriously, there is NOTHING to understand. it's just retarded.)

3. A Christmas Carol

SO BORING. I nearly fell asleep halfway through the movie, at the most exciting bit. Well the only redeeming point of the film is the graphics. The animations were really, really good, and because of that, i enjoyed the first half hour of the movie, but unfortunately, the other aspects of the movie couldn't support the awesomeness of the graphics and so the whole thing just flopped over and crumbled to the ground. The plot was just too predictable, and it was crawling at such a painfully slowwwww pace and there was too much talking and it was so cliched. They should inject a little, no, a LOT more humour and some sarcasm and witticism in it. Yea so, only worth watching if you have nothing else to watch.

Yesss that's about it. Haven't seen Jennifer's Body and i don't really plan to because unlike half the earth's population, i am not obsessed with megan darling fox. plus, it's a horror flick. i hate horror. even the word "horror" looks horrendously hideous. :D

Okayyy that cured a bit of my boredom. GIVE ME SOMETHING TO DO plsss that does not involve computers or the tv or anything electronical because i think they have something against me. seriously. everything DIES when i touch it. i think i've killed like 3 printers and more than 4 or 5 phones and my mom's computer. My dad has forbidden me to touch the computer in his room haha. And i have no idea how to use the tv or anything plugged into it. shut up, i'm not stupid, i just can't be bothered to figure all these things out. alrighttt i should stop rambling and go do something. something cool.

There are far too many days in a week, don't you think so? Like really, this week has been going on FOR EVER and last week felt like 25 lifetimes. They should make days longer and weeks shorter.

Ok so a week should have 5 days max, which would make 73.05 weeks a year, which is a slight improvement from the 52.17857142857142857142857(goes on forever) weeks-a-year system the world's currently adopting. It looks neater, feels better and will allow for increased productivity. I mean, most people usually start wilting and dying from stress or boredom by the time thursday comes along, and by friday, hardly any work gets done properly simply because it's a friday.

If a week had 5 days only, we can have like, week A and week B.

Week A will have 1 day as a weekend.

Week B will have 2 days as weekends.

This means that, over 10 days, we'll have 3 days off. This will benefit us in the long run if you compare it to the normal 7-days-a-week-2-days-as-weekends system. Over a year, MY system will have about 109 days of weekends while THEIR system will only have a measly 104 days as weekends.

5 days will make ALL the difference, really. It'll make weekdays easier to swallow because hey, the weekend is always just around the corner. I'm pretty sure more than 5 days worth of work is lost each year to fake sick leaves, naps and daydreaming during class/work anyway, just because people like me can't handle the arduous 7-day week.

Well that was... DIFFERENT. . .

Such a messed up maths paper! Everything was just so abnormal. The questions went from easy, to super impossible, to super difficult and then back to easy again instead of the conventional easy-to-impossible structure which had been the case for the PAST 10 YEARS. Yea so i skipped the impossible bit, got massively stuck at the difficult bit and because of that, didn't have time to finish the rest of the paper which was apparently really, really easy. GREAT.

And the questions were worded so strangely, it took me like forever to decipher WHAT exactly they wanted out of me. It was like trying to derive a math question out of a really badly written essay. HORRIBLE. HORRIFIC. NASTY.

welllll at least everyone else found it hard too eyyy. ehehe.

i think night and day have lost all meaning for me now. My sleeping patterns have been completely derailed and i don't remember the last time i actually managed to have 6 straight hours of sleep. I get so tired during the day that i collapse into massive naps and when i wake up, hours would've gone by and i would be like ahhhhhhh and i would try to compensate for the lost time by studying late into the night, or attempt to anyway. and it repeats. ha.

Stationery shopping. haha. I just wanted to get a proper pen because i've been using the pens my dad gets for free from drug companies, haa haha. They're really good actually but i think i'd prefer to use a proper store-bought pen during the exams cause i guess they're more reliable. okay i'm starting to sound like a weirdo but anyway, i was pretty amazed at the sheer amount of pens they had in the store. The whole selection covered like 5 metres of wall at least. And they were of every shape, size and colour and brand. It was a bit daunting, dizzifying almost haha. Honestly, how different can pens be?! A pen's a pen. Yea so i ended up getting 2 normal black ballpoint pens in 2 different sizes. I like black pens, blue pens are hideous. Er yeah. That's all i wanted to talk about. Bye.

Seriously. I am going to get a freaking aneurysm soon if that thing doesn't SHUT THE HELL UP. It has woken me up 4 times within AN HOUR and i yell at it everytime it starts barking but that obviously has no effect whatsoever on both owner and dog, even though i can clearly see my stupid neighbour sitting at the porch smoking a cigarette at 12.52AM. Yea according to my observations, the dog only barks when its owner is somewhere within a 5m radius of it OR when the BIRDS in the birdcage RIGHT IN FRONT of the dog pen start chirping and whistling OR when the owner saunters over and peers into his cage of guinea pigs or rabbits or whatever other small animal he keeps that also happens to be right in front of the dog. I feel like i'm living next to an animal refuge shelter.

Since my polite yelling did not work, i will write an even politer letter to him and if that doesn't work either, i'll report him to whoever i'm supposed to report these things to. We have rules right? We're a civilised neighbourhood and i'm sure there must be some noise disturbance ordinance thing going on around here.

HAHAHAHA how pathetic is that?! Of course it didn't work haha. That poor kid wasted all his time planning and scheming to set the school on fire when he could've been studying. Oh and the PMR students were moved to the H1N1 quarantine room instead HAHA. Guess his plan kind of backfired pretty badly haha haha ha.

Ah, PMR.... that was 4 years ago. good times. or maybe not. . .

Anyway, went for an interview (or rather, an Oral Assessment) with the people from the University of Adeleide earlier today. It was alright........ i THINK.

And as expected, i was asked the most generic question of all time: Why do you want to become a doctor? I totally saw that coming!

That was the 2nd question i think... the first question was a disaster haha. He asked "Tell me, what do you know about the medical course at the U of Adeleide?"

I knew ABSOLUTELY NOTHING. i didn't have time (read: i wasn't rly bothered) to check out the site and the course, so i stupidly made up some stuff and rambled on about nothing, and haha, his expression was like .................. and he was taking notes and ahh, embarrassing.

The rest of the questions were pretty .. difficult. Ambiguous ones... the kinds that try to pick and prod at your innermost feelings, character and personal values.

The most unnerving 30 minutes of my week, so far.

ok in approximately 2 hours and 9 minutes, my neighbour's (the one right behind me) dog will start on its barking frenzy. I've got it all figured out now.

There is a pattern here, can you see it? I think it's a sign.

yea i'm obviously going delusional. But you would too, if you hadn't have had (is that too many haves and hads?) a good sleep in 4 straight nights.

Believe me, i don't have anything against dogs, i think they're wonderful creatures.. But it's my neighbour, my really really rly inconsiderate neighbour that i feel like decapitating.

And, the dog's bark is not just any kind of bark. It is a deep and sharp bark that reverberates throughout the entire neighbourhood, and my room just happens to be right above its little pen/cage thing. It's VERY LOUD. And it doesn't help that i'm an extremely light sleeper.

I don't mean to whine and whinge about something so trivial and inconsequential but it really IS getting on my nerves.

Me, Jo and Anis had a little baking party just now, it was so cute! hahaha. Oh, and! Halfway through mixing the ingredients, Jo and I found out that we didn't have any milk left. I have a few things to say.

1) My hair, amongst other (probably more important) things, is driving me insane. I want to chop it all off. But I WILL regret it later, so, no.

2) I am sick of my person. I think i deserve a break from myself... A nice, short holiday.

3) If white is a mixture of all the colours, and black is an absence of colour, what then, is GREY? Cuz i think that's what my life is right now. One big, fat, hopeless shade of grey.

This is hopeless. I am getting nowhere with this dratted physics assignment thing. I'm writing at a pathetic rate of one paragraph per hour and i've written like.. 4 paragraphs so far so yea, you do the math. The blood has stopped flowing to my brain. UGH speaking of blood, AFRUZ made us watch the Texas Chainsaw Massacre after school today. It was just bloody disgusting. The entire movie consisted of blood, blood, blood, high-pitched screaming, mutilated body parts and some more blood. Oh and chainsaws too, obviously. I wasn't even watching it, but thanks to everyone's helpful narratives during the movie ("OMG, HE CUT OFF HER TONGUE", "RUN, RUN YOU IDIOT", "HE'S EATING HER FINGER" etc) and the constant SCREAMING and CRYING and sounds of things breaking and cracking, I might as well have seen the whole thing live. I think i am scarred for life.

Went to KLPAC to watch Hamlet yesterday, it was hilariously awesome. We met the cast after that, they were pretty awesome too haha.

Came back to my place, hung around in the neighbourhood for a bit, acted like 4-year-olds with ADD, freaked the neighbours out and took a MILLION and one photos.
